User Guides: How Do I Connect My NetComm Modem?

There are a variety of connection types available for NBN and each have a slightly different way of connecting to the NetComm modem. Below are the guidelines for each connection type.If you are unsure of your connection type, simply ask us via LiveChat or call us on 1300 254 255.

Fibre To The Premise (FTTP) / Fixed Wireless (FW)

  1. Connect one end of the YELLOW CABLE provided to the WAN port on the back of the modem.
  2. Connect the other end of the YELLOW CABLE to the UNI-D port assigned to you in the NBN box on the wall (you will receive an SMS/email/call from Click Broadband to let you know what UNID port you were assigned to).
  3. Plug the modem to the power outlet and turn it ON.
  4. Wait until the lights on the modem are GREEN.
  5. Try to access anything on the internet.

Note: Make sure NBN box is connected to the power outlet and the Optical Light on the NBN box is GREEN.

Fibre To The Node (FTTN) / Fibre To The Building (FTTB)

  1. Connect one end of the GREY CABLE provided to the DSL port on the back of the modem.
  2. Connect the other end of the GREY CABLE to the phone socket on the wall.
  3. Plug the modem to the power outlet and turn it ON.
  4. Wait until the DSL light is SOLID GREEN.
  5. Try to access anything on the internet.

Fibre To The Curb (FTTC)

  1. Make sure the NCD Box is connected to the phone socket and powered ON.
  2. Connect one end of the YELLOW CABLE provided to the WAN port on the back of the modem.
  3. Connect the other end of the YELLOW CABLE to the GATEWAY port of the NCD box.
  4. Plug the modem to the power outlet and turn it ON.
  5. Wait until the lights on the modem are GREEN.
  6. Try to access anything on the internet (if internet is not working after all are connected properly, please allow up to 24 hours with everything plugged in for service to become active).

Note: Make sure power, LAN and DSL lights on the NCD Box are all SOLID BLUE and Internet light is FLASHING BLUE.

Hybrid Fire Coaxial (HFC)

  1. Make sure the Arris Modem is connected to the coaxial port and powered ON.
  2. Connect one end of the YELLOW CABLE provided to the WAN port on the back of the modem.
  3. Connect the other end of the >YELLOW CABLE to the UNI-D port of the Arris Modem.
  4. Plug the modem to the power outlet and turn it ON.
  5. Wait until lights on the modem are GREEN.
  6. Try to access anything on the internet.

 

Note: Make sure power, downstrem, upstream and online lights on the Arris Mode are all GREEN.
